Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Feehan Shamrocks vs. Bishop Fenwick Crusaders

The Bishop Feehan Shamrocks will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders on Wednesday. Bishop Feehan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Bishop Fenwick's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bishop Feehan took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Archbishop Williams.

Randen May was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Jack Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Arlington Catholic hit Bishop Fenwick with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Bishop Feehan's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Bishop Fenwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Bishop Feehan took their win against Bishop Fenwick in their previous meeting on April 4th by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shamrocks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
