Tyler had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Winona Wildcats 9-1 on Friday. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jose Zab looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jose Manera, who scored two runs and stole Seven bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Malachi Deleon, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Tyler's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Winona, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Tyler will take on Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Winona, they will welcome Edgewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
