Basketball Game Preview: Carlisle Thundering Herd vs. Altoona Mountain Lions

Carlisle is on a five-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Altoona a six-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Carlisle Thundering Herd will host the Altoona Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Carlisle was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to Central Dauphin.

Meanwhile, Altoona had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Friday against Central Dauphin East by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65. The Mountain Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Carlisle now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Altoona, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Carlisle against Altoona when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 65-37 victory. Will Carlisle repeat their success, or does Altoona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
