Baseball Recap: Oldham County Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Oldham County had lost four games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 8-11-1 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Carroll County Panthers as they made off with a 13-2 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Colonels' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Oldham County got a great performance from Colton Davis as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Davis has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, Jackson Martin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Giles, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Oldham County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll County only posted an OBP of .238.

As for Carroll County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Oldham County: they've now lost five in a row.

On Carroll County's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oldham County will face off against South Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Carroll County, they will take on Owen County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
