Basketball Recap: Orangeburg-Wilkinson Falls Short Against Ranked Oceanside Collegiate Academy

On Tuesday, Orangeburg-Wilkinson faced Oceanside Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins took a hard 56-42 fall against the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks. The Bruins have struggled against the Landsharks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan McGahee, who went 5-for-8 en route to 10 points and seven boards. McGahee is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Jamison, who posted eight points.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Thomas out in front who put up 11 points. Drew Swyt was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Oceanside Collegiate Academy, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Coincidentally, Orangeburg-Wilkinson and Oceanside Collegiate Academy will both be playing Hanahan the next time they take the court. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will head out to face Hanahan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Orangeburg-Wilkinson will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
