Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Eleni Arakas and Nadia Cobos Lead Centennial to Victory

Centennial had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Emerson Mavericks. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Centennial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-20.

Leading Centennial to victory were Nadia Cobos and Eleni Arakas. Cobos had 12 digs and two aces, while Arakas had six digs and two aces.

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyla Mueller, who had 18 assists and six digs. Riley McMahan also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Emerson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-16.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Heritage on the 30th. As for Emerson, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Liberty on the 30th.
