Volleyball Game Preview: Elida Tigers vs. Dora Coyotes

After both having extra time off, the Elida Tigers and the Dora Coyotes will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dora took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Elida, who comes in off a win.

Elida will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Gateway Christian, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors on Thursday.

While Elida might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Gateway Christian scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 28-26, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Melrose.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-4.

Dora's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Elida, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Elida took their victory against Dora when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
