Holy Cross dropped their record down to 4-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost  6-0 to the Woodland Regional Hawks. The Crusaders were red-hot at the plate heading into the  match (they scored no less than ten  runs in the three  games prior), but the Hawks' pitchers proved too tough.
As for Woodland Regional, the  victory keeps they at an undefeated 6-0. Their pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a  run in their last three  contests.
For Woodland Regional's part,  Ella VanAlstyne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. VanAlstyne has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Caitlyn Braun, who  went 1-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Paige Chiaramonte also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
While Holy Cross had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
