Volleyball Recap: Kings Christian Comes Up Short

If Kings Christian was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Riverdale Christian on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Crusaders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Legacy Christian Academy Lions on Thursday. The Crusaders have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Kings Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucy Gillies, who had four aces and two assists. That's the most aces Gillies has posted since back in October of 2024.

Kings Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Legacy Christian Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kings Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Alpaugh at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th. Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy will face off against rival Laton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
