The high school girls basketball season came to an end in Texas over the weekend as three teams in the MaxPreps Top 25 rankings hoisted trophies in their respective classifications.

No. 15 Boswell (Fort Worth) won the Class 6A Division II title, No. 20 Monterey (Lubbock) grabbed the Class 5A Division II title and No. 24 Lincoln (Dallas) was the Class 4A Division II champion.

Aaliyah Chavez, the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025, led Monterey to its first state title since 1981, scoring 19 in the championship game. She finished her career with 4,796 points, which is good for 14th on the national career scoring list. She is set to announce her college commitment on March 25.

Boswell won its first state title by negating a cold-shooting first half — going 1 of 15 from 3-point range — with stifling defense in the opening half of a 51-42 win over Fort Bend Hightower (Missouri City). The Pioneers found their stroke after intermission with Sydney Durrah scoring 17, MVP Seleste Massey adding 16 and Miami commit Camille Williams tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds in her final game.

It was a fourth banner for Lincoln but first since 2008, ending a 16-year championship drought for Dallas ISD schools. The Tigers led wire-to-wire in the 60-32 victory over Cuero. Ar'jayla Elder led the way with 19 points while Grace Spencer and freshman Lanae Dallas each poured in 12.

Sidwell Friends (Washington, D.C.) earned a measure of revenge in winning the DCSAA Class AA title Sunday. The Quakers got 27 points from game MVP Jordyn Jackson as they bested St. John's (Washington, D.C.) 72-44. Last year, the Cadets beat Sidwell for the title.

Quakers head coach Tamika Dudley announced Tuesday she is leaving the school to become director of girls basketball operations at The St. James, a Northern Virginia multi-purpose athletic facility that hosts the annual She Got Game Classic. Additionally, she will be the varsity coach of the St. James Performance Academy, the educational arm of the facility which plans elementary, middle school and high school programs next season.

No. 22 Langston Hughes (Fairburn) is the lone team to enter the rankings ahead of its Georgia Class AAAAAA final battle with No. 21 River Ridge (Woodstock) on Friday. The other Peach State final of note happens Wednesday as No. 3 Hebron Christian (Dacula) looks to win its third straight state title with a matchup with Stanford-bound McDonald's All American Hailee Swain and  24-5 Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta).

The gauntlet of winning a California Open Division title begins this week with six MaxPreps Top 25 teams in the field. No. 1 Ontario Christian (Ontario), fresh off its 65-63 win over No. 6 Etiwanda in the section final, earns the SoCal regional top seed. The Knights meet the winner of No. 10 Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth) and Mission Hills (San Marcos) on Saturday.

In Northern California, No. 7 Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) is looking for its fifth straight Open Division final berth as the top seed. The Monarchs are on a collision course with No. 19 Clovis West (Fresno), the No. 2 seed in NorCal.
