Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Catholic Takes a Loss

John F. Kennedy Catholic managed to keep up with Lutheran West until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles came up short against the Lutheran West Longhorns, falling 73-52. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Longhorns are ranked 30th).

When it comes to explaining why John F. Kennedy Catholic lost, don't look at Nick Ryan. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Ryan has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 31 times he's played. Christian Swogger also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

John F. Kennedy Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Lutheran West, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Coming up, John F. Kennedy Catholic will face off against Gilmour Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilmour Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something John F. Kennedy Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. Lutheran West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
