Basketball Recap: Juneau-Douglas Takes a Loss

Juneau-Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mt. Edgecumbe Braves, falling 68-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Crimson Bears have suffered since December 18, 2024.

Juneau-Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Mt. Edgecumbe, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juneau-Douglas will head out to square off against Kodiak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Juneau-Douglas is facing Kodiak at the right time seeing as Kodiak is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Mt. Edgecumbe, they will challenge Sitka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mt. Edgecumbe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches.
