Baseball Game Preview: Anchor Bay Tars vs. St. Clair Saints

For the second straight game, Anchor Bay will face off against St. Clair. The Tars will head out to take on the Saints at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Anchor Bay has five straight victories, St. Clair has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Anchor Bay got the win against St. Clair by a conclusive 15-4. That looming 15-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tars yet this season.

Mason Erikson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Isaiah Domey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Ludwig, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Anchor Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.

St. Clair's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Anchor Bay, their record now sits at 13-9.
