Basketball Recap: ALA - Anthem South Comes Up Short

ALA - Anthem South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 67-34 defeat at the hands of the Horizon Honors Eagles.

ALA - Anthem South's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ivan Bautista, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Bautista a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Marsh, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, ALA - Anthem South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

ALA - Anthem South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Horizon Honors, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.

ALA - Anthem South has already played their next game, a 57-32 victory against St. John Paul II Catholic on the 4th. As for Horizon Honors, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-42 win against Chandler Prep on the 4th.
