Volleyball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha and Silver Lake squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Hiawatha had to settle for second. They fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-11.

Kylie Nelson paced Hiawatha's offense, picking up four kills. Nelson got some help from Adison Williams and her seven assists.

Among those leading the charge was Jaylie Whitehead, who had 16 digs and one assist.

Hiawatha's loss dropped their record down to 18-21. As for Silver Lake, the win (which was their 28th in a row) raised their record to 38-1.

Hiawatha does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silver Lake, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Pleasant Ridge on the 20th.
