Volleyball Recap: Mary Persons Takes a Loss

Mary Persons was the 2-0 winner over Stratford Academy when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.

Mary Persons started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Kyndall Morgan and Kamryn Vannier, who picked up six kills apiece. Vannier also shared the team's lead in assists with Natalie Claxton: they picked up ten each. Kasyn Vannier controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mary Persons' defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Stratford Academy, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Mary Persons will be playing in front of their home fans against Academy for Classical Education at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Stratford Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Creekside Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
