Volleyball Game Preview: Hammond Golden Bears vs. Howard Lions

Hammond hasn't had much luck against Howard recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Golden Bears will challenge the Lions at 6:00 p.m.

Hammond lost 3-0 to Guilford Park on Monday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-9, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Howard strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Guilford Park 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-4, 25-12, 25-21.

Hammond better keep an eye on Miranda Ball. She was instrumental in Howard's win, getting 11 digs and seven assists. Jojo Vassor also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Howard's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Hammond, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Hammond might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Howard in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ball, who had 14 digs and six aces. Now that the Golden Bears know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
