College Station came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 45-14 victory over the Lockhart Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

College Station was led to victory by Trey Walton and Keaton Johnson. Walton gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns, while Johnson threw for 106 yards and three TDs on only ten passes. Walton also rushed for 100 rushing yards, which is notable because the Cougars are undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zak Cosser, who gained 37 total yards and two touchdowns.

College Station was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to College Station's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Zahron Benford, Cole Flanagan, and Zan Stevens, who each picked up one sack apiece.

College Station now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lockhart, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

College Station has already played their next contest, a 35-24 win against Weiss on the 31st. As for Lockhart, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-22 defeat against Anderson on the 30th.
