            Football Recap: Saint Francis Lancers vs. Junipero Serra Padres        
        
		
        
        
            
Saint Francis was the  27-21 winner over Junipero Serra when they last played one another  back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell  41-28 to the Padres on Saturday.
Saint Francis'  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Drew Cumby, who threw for 205 yards and three  TDs, and  Sean Walsh, who picked up 83 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Walsh showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.
 Even if they lost, Saint Francis' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks.  Miles Day refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5  sacks all by himself.
 This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Jeovanni Henley and  Iziah Singleton. Henley rushed for 86 yards and a pair of  scores on only five carries while  Singleton rushed for 97 yards and one  TD. Those  86  rushing yards gave  Henley a new career-high.  Jayden Aparicio got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Saint Francis' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Junipero Serra, the  win was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saint Francis is set to  challenge  their familiar foe St. Ignatius College Preparatory  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Junipero Serra will  square off against  rival Archbishop Mitty  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
