Basketball Recap: Janorris Anthony's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wilkinson County over Amite County

Wilkinson County lost against Amite County last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wilkinson County Wildcats received a blow as they fell 61-43 to the Amite County Trojans. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 13-8 in the first quarter.

Wilkinson County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JaNorris Anthony, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Jayden ?Duk? Dunbar was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Wilkinson County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilkinson County and nudges their season record down to 2-17. As for Amite County, they pushed their record up to 9-16 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wilkinson County will take on Pelahatchie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amite County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
