Volleyball Recap: Dundee-Crown's Win on Sunday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dundee-Crown waltzed into their match on Sunday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Elgin Maroons by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Dundee-Crown took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11.

Dundee-Crown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nina Marcanti out in front who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most digs Marcanti has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Tori Brents, who had ten assists and four aces.

Dundee-Crown's record now sits at 15-17. As for Elgin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Dundee-Crown will head out to challenge Prairie Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elgin, they will venture away from home to take on West Chicago at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
