Baseball Recap: Osceola Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Osceola rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Seminole Seminoles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Leo Alvarado tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Osceola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Spadorcia, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Spadorcia has hit this season.

Osceola has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Seminole, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-8.

As of now, neither Osceola nor the Seminoles have any future games scheduled.
