Football Game Preview: Moapa Valley Pirates vs. Pahrump Valley Trojans

Moapa Valley is a perfect 7-0 against Pahrump Valley since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Moapa Valley is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Boulder City on Friday. The Pirates claimed a resounding 44-8 win over the Eagles. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Briggs Hickman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. He is becoming a predictor of Moapa Valley's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The Pirates also got help from Brody Redd, who showed off his sure hands for 93 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Pahrump Valley made easy work of Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on Friday and carried off a 36-12 win.

Moapa Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pahrump Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Moapa Valley strolled past Pahrump Valley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 49-35. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Trojans' Kayne Horibe, who threw for 299 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 68 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
