Softball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Cougars vs. Fort Vancouver Trappers

The Seton Catholic Cougars will challenge the Fort Vancouver Trappers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seton Catholic is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games.

Seton Catholic's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Camas 2-0. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Cougars have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The result came thanks to Jocelyn Kender's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seton Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kenzie Kuhnhausen, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Fort Vancouver didn't have quite enough to beat Stevenson on Thursday and fell 8-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Trappers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Vancouver, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
