Softball Recap: Patuxent Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

It was a proper cat-fight when Patuxent took on Thomas Stone on Monday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won nine in a row.

Hannah Bruno made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Coombs, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Somerville, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
