Volleyball Game Preview: Denver Christian Thunder vs. Kent Denver Sun Devils

The Denver Christian Thunder will take on the Kent Denver Sun Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Denver Christian will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

While Denver Christian's win against The Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Thunder sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Wildcats on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunder have posted since September 23rd.

Denver Christian took The Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-9, 11-25, 26-28, 25-22, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Kent Denver didn't have quite enough to beat Bennett on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Kent Denver sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-9.

Kent Denver's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Denver Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.

Everything went Denver Christian's way against Kent Denver in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Denver Christian made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
