Basketball Recap: Frisco Takes a Loss

Frisco lost against Heritage on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Frisco Raccoons lost 51-29 to the Heritage Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Raccoons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 965th, while the Coyotes are ranked 343rd).

Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jadyn Middleton led the charge by going 6 for 11 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Royal Crooks, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Frisco's defeat dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frisco has already played their next game (against Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Heritage will challenge Lebanon Trail at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is facing Lebanon Trail at the right time seeing as Lebanon Trail is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
