Baseball Game Preview: McKenzie Rebels vs. Greenfield Yellowjackets

The McKenzie Rebels will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Greenfield Yellowjackets on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

McKenzie is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Camden Central. The Rebels' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Greenfield came out on top against Bradford on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Yellowjackets have posted against the Red Devils since March 26, 2018.

Easton Sullivan was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Sullivan was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anderson Hayes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

McKenzie got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 against Greenfield by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
