The High Point Christian Academy Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Thursday. Everything went High Point Christian Academy's way against Cannon as High Point Christian Academy made off with a 12-1 victory. High Point Christian Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 11 runs or more this season.
Paisley Dixon looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Hailey Allred and Blakely Bowman did most of the damage at the plate: Allred went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Bowman scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Allred has posted since back in April of 2024. Chloe Overstreet also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
High Point Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cannon only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Uwharrie Charter Academy). They never let Trinity get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.
Katelyn West made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Abbie Cruea was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Victoria Jennings was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for Uwharrie Charter Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 7.5 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.5 in the others. As for High Point Christian Academy, their record is now 5-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. High Point Christian Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Uwharrie Charter Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
High Point Christian Academy took their victory against Uwharrie Charter Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 13-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for High Point Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
