Basketball Recap: St. Marys Comes Up Short

If St. Marys was riding high fresh off their 53-25 takedown of Jackson Heights last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Marys Bears lost 49-26 to the Lafayette Fighting Irish on Saturday. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, St. Marys still got an impressive performance from Hayden Heim, who posted 20 points and eight boards. Heim's morning made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

St. Marys' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lafayette, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

St. Marys has already played their next game (against Rossville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lafayette has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against East Buchanan.
