Volleyball Recap: Williamsburg Has No Trouble Against Georgetown

Williamsburg won the last time they faced Georgetown and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats blew past the G-Men 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Williamsburg never let Georgetown on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-17.

Taylor Battista was nothing short of spectacular: she had 12 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave her a new career-high.

Battista wasn't the only good server: Williamsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Williamsburg now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Georgetown, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williamsburg will challenge Fayetteville-Perry at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Georgetown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Felicity-Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
