Soccer Game Preview: Nogales vs. Buena

Nogales and Buena are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but likely not for long. The Nogales Apaches are taking a road trip to face off against the Buena Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Nogales fell victim to Catalina Foothills and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Falcons are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Buena also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Rio Rico by a score of 3-1. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nogales' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Nogales beat Buena by a goal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Nogales have another victory up their sleeve, or will Buena turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
