Baseball Game Preview: Brennan Bears vs. Holmes Huskies

For the second straight game, Brennan will face off against Holmes. The Bears will take on the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brennan's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Holmes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Brennan and Holmes meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bears fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 2-1.

For Holmes' part, Mason Acosta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Holmes saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raymundo Vasquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Vasquez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Brennan's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Holmes, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-15.
