The Baptist Hill Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Cross Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Baptist Hill 12.1, Cross 6.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
Baptist Hill is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Scott's Branch just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Brayden Franklin, who rushed for 35 yards and one score, and also threw for 134 yards on ten of 22 attempts. EK Thompson helped out on the ground, rushing for 124 yards.

Even if they lost, Baptist Hill's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Kelvin Smalls , Jr was especially locked on to Scott's Branch's QB and sacked him twice. Smalls , Jr has become a key player for Baptist Hill: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least one sack, but 1-2 otherwise. Martrell Wright got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cross waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They really took it to the Mohawks for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-14 win. With the Trojans ahead 36-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Baptist Hill better keep an eye on Mah'Ky Green. He was instrumental in Cross' win, rushing for 188 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Green's longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Tyler Harris, who threw for 162 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cross was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive contests.
Cross didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Caden Ramsey and Green. Green's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 137 rushing yards.
Cross' record is now 8-1. As for Baptist Hill, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.
Baptist Hill took a serious blow against Cross in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 36-0. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Karmello Jones (who rushed for 150 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
