Baseball Recap: Nathan Hale Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Nathan Hale's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Franklin Quakers a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Raiders have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Finn Leach made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Nathan Hale got a big performance out of PJ Sale, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Andrew Goodman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Nathan Hale's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nathan Hale will square off against Garfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin, they will face off against Chief Sealth at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
