Basketball Recap: Liberty Falls Short Against Ranked Shadow Ridge

On Thursday, Liberty faced Shadow Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Liberty Patriots were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 35-34 to the Shadow Ridge Mustangs. The loss was just more heartbreak for the Patriots who fell 49-46 when the teams previously met back in January of 2024.

Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Satsuki Bradley and Brylee Christensen. Bradley almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Christensen posted eight points and six rebounds. That's the most rebounds Christensen has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mia Versola, who had five points.

The defeat snapped Liberty's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-6 record. As for Shadow Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Liberty will square off against St. Monica at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Liberty is facing St. Monica at the right time seeing as St. Monica is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Shadow Ridge has already played their next game (against Faith Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
