Cambridge-Isanti had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Monticello on Thursday. The Bluejackets blew past the Magic 11-4. The Bluejackets not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.

Peyton Vanderlee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Cambridge-Isanti got a massive performance out of Hailey Schmidt, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Amiya Polzin was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Cambridge-Isanti was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monticello only posted a batting average of .259.

Cambridge-Isanti's record is now 2-0. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
