Baseball Recap: Ithaca Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Ithaca and Valley Lutheran have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. The Yellowjackets lost 9-2 to the Chargers. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 5-0.

Ithaca's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Valley Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ithaca will square off against rival Hemlock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Valley Lutheran is set to face off against their familiar foe Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
