Baseball Recap: Simsboro Wins Going Away Against Rayville

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Delhi Charter, Simsboro was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Rayville Hornets. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Levi Adkins made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Adkins was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing four bases. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hayden Rabo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Braylon Gipson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Simsboro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Simsboro's victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for Rayville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rayville, they will face off against Forest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
