Softball Recap: Shepard Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bremen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shepard). They put the hurt on the Bremen Braves with a sharp 16-2 victory on Thursday. Considering the Astros have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Shepard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bremen, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-12 record.

Coming up, Shepard is taking a road trip to take on Reavis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Astros' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. Bremen has already played their next game (against Stagg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
