Recap: Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Broad Run Spartans

The Stone Bridge Bulldogs waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They skirted past Broad Run 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Stone Bridge was led to victory by Jordan Moore and Omar Abushaban. Moore scored 16 points, while Abushaban dropped a double-double on 19 points and 24 rebounds. Abushaban has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Jeremiah Stanford was another key contributor, scoring seven points.

Stone Bridge is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Broad Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stone Bridge and Independence will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stone Bridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Independence likes a good challenge. As for Broad Run, they will head out on the road to face off against Loudoun County at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Broad Run is facing Loudoun County at the right time seeing as Loudoun County is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
