It was a good run, but Fort Meade unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks. If the Miners were looking for revenge after losing 5-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Andrew Brooks put in work no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brooks was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brooks wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Harrell, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Fort Meade's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Santa Fe Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Fort Meade wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-3 loss against Mulberry on the 10th. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against McKeel Academy on the 11th.
