Soccer Game Preview: Dyer County vs. Crockett County

Dyer County hasn't had much luck against Crockett County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Choctaws will head out on the road to square off against the Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m.

Dyer County fell victim to Milan and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Dyer County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Milan are ranked 81st).

Meanwhile, Crockett County entered their tilt with McNairy Central last Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bobcats 6-3. Considering Crockett County have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Dyer County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-2. As for Crockett County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Dyer County might still be hurting after the 7-3 loss they got from Crockett County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Choctaws avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
