Preview: Paris vs. Sulphur Springs
Paris has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Sulphur Springs Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Paris can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They never let North Lamar onto the board and left with a 3-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Pleasant Grove on Tuesday.
Sulphur Springs was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Rowan Faircloth and
Jolea Moore, who scored both of Sulphur Springs' goals. The pair have combined for a total of 23 so far this season.
Paris pushed their record up to 5-3-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for Sulphur Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Paris suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Sulphur Springs in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Paris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
