Ocoee waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took down the Colonial Grenadiers 59-41. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 56-27 victory the Grenadiers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Dakara Merthie was her usual excellent self, going 12 of 17 en route to 27 points along with seven steals and five boards. Jaylla Williams also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.

Colonial lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aracelis Cruz, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Cruz a new career-high in boards. Yaneyla Pedraza was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ocoee's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Colonial, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-14.

Ocoee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-35 victory against Apopka on the 6th. As for Colonial, they have also already played their next match, a 45-36 win against Winter Park on the 6th.
