Softball Game Preview: Wausau West Warriors vs. Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders

Wausau West hasn't had much luck against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will challenge the Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m.

Wausau West is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 7-1 to Stevens Point.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln made sure to put some runs up on the board against Holmen on Tuesday. The Red Raiders blew past the Vikings 17-8. The win continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

Sydney Holberg was incredible, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kristin Radtke, who went 3-for-6 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wausau West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Wausau West skirted past Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
