Basketball Recap: Morristown Skates Past Hauser with Ease

Morristown had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They really took it to the Hauser Jets for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-28 win. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Morristown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Sanders, who went 8 of 12 en route to 19 points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave Sanders a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Cox, who went 10 for 11 on her way to 20 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Hauser saw an underclassman step up: sophomore June Berkenstock went 6 of 7 en route to 12 points along with five boards and four steals. Berkenstock also set a new season-high mark in blocks with four. Ava Dempsey also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Morristown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.2 points. As for Hauser, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

Morristown has already played their next game, a 56-35 win against Knightstown on the 27th. As for Hauser, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 55-24 defeat against Christian Academy on the 25th.
