Basketball Recap: Braddock Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Coconut Creek came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Braddock, but Jayden Figueroa wouldn't allow it. The Braddock Bulldogs walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Coconut Creek Cougars on Saturday thanks in part to Figueroa, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points along with seven boards and five steals. What's more, he also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Coconut Creek had strong showings from Nash Youte, who went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Ijah Chin, who posted six points and 12 rebounds. Youte is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Warren Noel was another key player, putting up five points and five assists.

Braddock has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Coconut Creek, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Braddock and Coconut Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Braddock (ranked 437th) will meet Grandview Prep (ranked 203rd) at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coconut Creek (ranked 683rd) will meet Atlantic (ranked 317th) at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
