Basketball Recap: Word of God Academy Falls to Marshall Christian Academy in First Game of Season

Word of God Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Marshall Christian Academy Guardians on Monday, falling 45-18. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Force of the 52-31 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Several Force players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brynn Jordan, who posted six points and ten boards.

Word of God Academy has already played their next contest, a 55-29 victory against Mount Olive Christian on the 28th. Hopefully Marshall Christian Academy paid attention to the Force's matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Force on December 15.
