Baseball Recap: Washtenaw Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Washtenaw Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 11-7 to the Genesee Christian Soldiers.

David Knickelbein made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Elias Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Washtenaw Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Genesee Christian, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washtenaw Christian Academy will venture away from home to challenge Faith Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Genesee Christian, they will challenge Bentley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Soldiers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
